Dreams
How do you create your dream? Does it start from the beginning? When you begin a dream, there is no creative process. The dream just begins. Everything is already there. Does it die in the end? When we wake up, everything is gone. What we are doing now is living the dream of death.
When you fall asleep and are in a deep dreamless sleep state, you still exist and the world does not exist. The dreamless sleep state is like self-realization; you are just not conscious. However, it does not preclude the fact of your existence, because when you awaken, you are talking about yourself. The dreamless sleep state is the same as the death of identity. In this state, we still exist, but all other aspects of our experience are taken away.
But there is a certain enduring part of us,
the "I am," the Self, the Consciousness. It is the core of our being, and it remains unchanged in our different states of sleep and wakefulness.
Eventually we will wake up from our dreams and realize that all of these things, including our present reality, were just different states of consciousness. We can then free ourselves from attachment to illusions and limitations and achieve true freedom.
